In a New York minute, everything can change …

You don’t mess with aspiring journalist Holly Johnson! The man she fell for is not all that he seems – because sometimes dating online doesn’t quite go to plan. She’s decided to fly to the Big Apple to surprise him and to get some answers. And if her plan works she’ll also get the scoop of her career …

But as she steps out of her yellow taxi and the first snowflakes start to fall, it’s Holly who has the surprise of her life.

What should be a dream come true is looking a little like a nightmare. But Holly is determined to get her New York happy ending!

I have said recently that I generally love Claudia Carroll's newer books more than some of the older ones, and having just finished Meet Me in Manhattan, I still stand by that statement. I really enjoyed this book, with all the greatness of Irish Fiction, mixed with Manhattan at Christmas, you get a special story.

The whole way through there were things completely drawing me into the story, the main one being what exactly is it that caused Holly to want to spend Christmas all alone.

Other stories include the online dating, where you see some of her exchanges with Andy McCoy and are lead to fall for the handsome airline pilot yourself, unless of course its just me who is possibly as naive as Holly, as I didn't suspect that things may not be as they seem with him.

I also lost all sense of where I was while reading Holly's dreams of Christmas's past, each of them drew you in, and gave you a far greater sense of Holly's childhood and past. There is just something about the writing in this book, that just keeps you hooked.

The section of the book in Manhattan, was brilliant, I really loved some of the hidden secrets of places that Holly was shown to after, having done what she went to Manhattan to do.

There are all sorts of bits of secrets and hidden information throughout the book and there were times that although I was enjoying it, I was wondering if I had missed a page of vital info, as so much was being hinted at, but no concrete details, which was slightly off putting, but was my only fault with the book.

I loved Holly's work place, and the scene where she was working on research for the budget, was so high paced,  I felt I was there alongside her, especially with the frantic emails.

Large amounts of this book just drew me into the story so much, the whole book took place over about a month of time, and the pacing was superb, as was the writing. I read this while on a 2 long train journeys, and where trains often send me to sleep with the motion, I felt no need to sleep at all while reading this, which is  pretty impressive feat for a book and me!

Thanks so much to Avon and Netgalley for this review copy. This was my honest review.
