Love is an open door…except when it keeps slamming in your face

Hopeless romantic Milly Rose has had her fair share of heartbreak. Obsessed with all things Disney, she refuses to give up on finding her Prince Charming – he’s out there somewhere, isn’t he?

When Milly is given a job to investigate the origins of a historical building in the village of Clover's Rest, she’s not sure what to expect. What she discovers takes her breath away - a beautiful real life Cinderella castle, complete with turrets, a magnificent drawbridge AND a very handsome owner…Cameron Heartstone.

As Milly and Cameron begin to unearth the secrets of Clover Castle, they can’t ignore the intense chemistry building between them. But they’ve both been hurt badly before. Can they take a big leap of faith and find their own happily-ever-after?

A deliciously enchanting read that will delight fans of Rachael Lucas, Lucy Diamond and Miranda Dickinson or anyone who has ever blubbed at a Disney movie. Who says real life can’t be a fairytale?

Fairytale Beginnings is a brand new modern tale fairytale, complete with its own Cinderella-esque castle, and two people that are destined to be together. It is a romantic and funny story, and I could easily imagine it as a Disney film in its own right. I think there are even sections where a song could easily fit in, to really give it that magical feeling even more.

As a humongous Disney fan myself, I was so excited to see that the main character Milly was obsessed with Disney. I love reading about a character who I can connect with easily on some level, and Milly was just that person.

The descriptions of Clover Castle, as Milly first approaches it, along with what she then sees on the tour that Cameron gives her, painted the most colourful picture of an amazing building, clearly built in pieces over many historical periods.  But that just adds to the character of the place.

And then there are the ghosts, especially the one that Milly and Cameron can both see, which adds even more character to the setting. Add in the wacky locals of the village of Clover's Rest, including a woman who looks like a witch, and you have a fabulous blend of the weird and the wacky.

And lets not forget the stories that Cameron knows about the history of the castle, especially the myths regarding one of his ancestor's lost treasure.

Milly and Cameron are clearly drawn to each other from the beginning but initially she is scared of being unprofessional, given where her thoughts are going. However it soon becomes apparent that she and Cameron definitely have a connection, and could even be soul mates...if only they can fully trust each other and forget all the past bad relationships they have both had.

If you are worried by my mentions of Disney, don't be, this is definitely not a children's book, and I would probably class it as a fairy story for adults, with a fabulous feel good factor. I challenge anyone to read this book and not smile their way through it.

Fairytale Beginnings is easily one of my favourite books I have read this year. It really touches me in all the right ways, and was an absolute pleasure and delight to read.

Thank you so much to Bookoutre and Netgalley for this review copy. This was my honest review.

Happy Publication day Holly Martin - Fairytale Beginnings is out today in ebook and paperback.
